This year marked the beginning of my journey into concert photography in Sault Ste. Marie, and it all started with my love for live music and visual storytelling. As a local photographer, I was drawn to the energy of concerts and the challenge of capturing fleeting, emotional moments under dynamic stage lighting.
My first major experiences as a Sault Ste. Marie concert photographer were shooting live shows at Soo Blasters. From a photography perspective, Soo Blasters is an incredible place to shoot. The atmosphere, lighting setups, and close connection between artists and the crowd make it ideal for capturing powerful live music images. Every performance pushes me to adapt quickly, refine my camera settings, and anticipate moments as they unfold on stage.
I’ve also had the opportunity to shoot two shows at the Tap Room, which offered a more intimate live music environment. These performances allowed me to focus on artist expressions, small details, and the connection between musicians and their audience—an important part of live music photography in Sault Ste. Marie.
Getting into concert photography has helped shape my creative style and deepen my connection to the local music scene. I’m passionate about supporting musicians, venues, and events across the Soo and Northern Ontario. As I continue to grow as a live event photographer, I look forward to documenting more concerts, bands, and performances in the community.
